🌟 ABOUT TIME: LOUIS VUITTON'S FALL/WINTER 2022 RUNWAY ⏳
Louis Vuitton declares that its Fall/Winter 2022 collection revolves around the concept of time. And quite fittingly, the show unfolded beneath the grand clock at Paris' Musée d'Orsay. It marked the first fashion show in this iconic space, and we're pretty confident it won't be the last.
This collection, in particular, zoomed in on the nuances of young adulthood and various facets of the teenage experience. Thankfully, it didn't delve into teenage angst or acne. Instead, it explored those formative years that allow one to shape their character. The collection is built upon the idea of freedom of movement and the youthful inclination to personalize everything.
With an emphasis on movement, comfort, and ease, designer Nicolas Ghesquière brings meticulous attention to materials. It's safe to assume this includes many of the captivating bags showcased on the runway. Interestingly, numerous ensembles featured generously sized pockets, potentially rendering the need for a handbag obsolete. 👜
🌸 BLOOMING MONOGRAM 🌼
A delightful floral print was introduced, overlaying the iconic monogram in various color schemes and styles. While predominantly presented in duffle-like travel shapes, we anticipate more bag options to emerge in this charming material. 🌺👜
👜 LOUIS VUITTON HAC, PERHAPS? 🧡
A double top handle, trapezoidal tote that might draw comparisons to Hermès' renowned HAC – the bag that sparked the Birkin craze. Resembling the iconic orange line, this design leans towards a more vertical silhouette. It features a sangle-like attachment and a visible hanging lock.
Louis Vuitton, like other luxury brands, has explored the realm of Birkin-inspired designs before. Yet, are all two-handle totes aspiring to be Hermès, or every chain-adorned flap bag aiming to be Chanel? We'll leave that to your discerning fashion judgment. 👜🧡
👜 TRUNCATED TRUNKS 🧳
While it may not bear that official title, the petite malle and its descendants are essentially downsized trunks. Louis Vuitton included a classic clutch and a more elongated style.
And then there's this intriguing piece – quite the enigma, to be honest. Is it open or closed? Expandable or not? 🤷♀️
👜 LEATHER SHOULDER BAGS 🖤
The runway featured exquisite, sleek leather in various styles, underscoring the meticulous craftsmanship invested in materials. The initial design is a medium-sized flap bag showcased in three colors. It boasts a round logo (reminiscent of the LV Pont) and a pull tab (similar to that of the Dauphine). The hardware hints at an adjustable strap.
Another flap design showcased the LV twist lock closure paired with diagonal quilting.
But not everything was in the form of a flap. The collection also embraced slouchier, hobo-esque, and bucket styles. 🎒🖤
👜 SQUARED DUFFLES 🧳
Resembling Louis Vuitton's Sirius luggage pieces, these squared-off duffle bags appeared in various sizes and materials. As seen before, many of them featured the flower-printed monogram. Ready for your next travel adventure?
So, do you adore a touch of floral with your monogram, or is leather more your style? Share your thoughts! 💬🌸🧳
